What do the best schools offer?
National Heritage Academies (NHA) operates a system of schools that offer a high quality education to students in kindergarten through eighth grade. All NHA schools are tuition-free public charter schools with a strong focus on each child’s academic growth. Our goal is for every one of our students to be on a college bound path before they enter high school. In the last five years, NHA schools ranked in the top 25 percent of U.S. schools for academic growth.
Our curriculum is built around a strong emphasis on math, reading, science, and social studies—the foundation for college readiness. Students take a nationally-recognized test three times a year to determine their academic growth as the year progresses. Teachers use those test results to establish academic growth goals, track progress, and develop student learning plans. The test also allows teachers to provide individualized instruction to a student in an area where they need extra help. With such a strong focus on learning, ninety-two percent of our parents believe NHA is one of the best schools to choose.
Where should I send my kids to school?
You will only have to make one decision on where to send your child to school for their elementary and middle school education at NHA. Our schools make a nine-year commitment to every child by following the K-8 education model. A kindergarten student will stay in the same building, with the same classmates, teachers, and leadership until they graduate from eighth grade. The K-8 model is designed to eliminate the stress of switching schools for middle school and then again for high school.
How do you teach kids life skills?
NHA schools provide a Moral Focus curriculum to teach kids critical life skills such as integrity, perseverance, compassion, and courage. The values are an essential part of what students need to succeed, and an essential part of what we teach. The Moral Focus curriculum also helps students develop work habits and study skills need to be successful in school and in life.
