Why Triumph Academy?

Founded on academic excellence, moral focus, parental partnership, and student responsibility, Triumph Academy is a school like no other – one that can lead to a lifetime of success. We provide a safe learning environment and our exceptional teachers individualize instruction based on your child’s needs. In addition, we focus on real-world skills and how to be a good person. Our students also draft a social contract that reinforces their commitment to their school, their teacher, and each other.

I cannot sing the praises of Triumph sufficiently. The principal has created a culture of acceptance and value for high morals and education, and it is evident in each administrator and teacher. The communication is effective and timely. The academics are rigorous, and perhaps more importantly, geared toward individual student need. We feel blessed to have found this school! - Triumph Academy Parent

Good Afternoon, Triumph Families! Thank you to all of our parents who participated in conferences last week. We enjoy the opportunity to meet with parents and discuss the progress and achievement of our students. The parent school partnership is so crucial to the academic growth of students. If you weren’t able to make conferences last week, it is not too late to schedule an appointment with your teachers. I also want to thank all of our parents who have taken the parent satisfaction survey. It is always our goal to have highly satisfied parents, and we use this survey by looking at the aspects of our school that parents report are successful or areas we need growth in, to goal set and action plan for current and future school years. The survey also allows NHA to see how we are doing as a school. I am proud to say we have been in the top 12 schools in the company over the last 2 years. If you haven’t already done so, please take the time to complete this short survey. If you have any questions, please contact the main office. On a side note, although we value the parent survey, I also value feedback and suggestions year round. If you ever have concerns or ideas for improvement throughout the year, I will always make time to talk with parents. Feel free to contact me anytime! Monday, Feb. 20th there is no school, in observance of President’s Day. The next round of Rubix cube club will begin this Tuesday, Feb. 21st and will be held for 3 weeks. Cost to join the club is $15 per student. If you are interested in joining, sign-up sheets are in the main office. Wednesday, Feb. 22nd is $1 pizza day. Thursday, Feb. 23rd is Donuts with the Dean at 9:00am for any families looking at attending Triumph’s kindergarten in the 2017-2018 school year. If you know anyone who is thinking about Triumph, please let them know about this event! Thursday, there is a Health and Wellness Committee meeting at 3:30pm in the staff lounge. Girls’ basketball will be playing an away game at South Arbor. Friday, Feb. 24th is $1 jean day and Student of the Month Assembly. The Monroe County Student Prevention Leadership Team from Monroe Community College will be making a presentation to our 7th and 8th graders about substance abuse prevention. The Box Top Challenge has been extended! Bring in Box Tops now through Friday, Feb. 24th and the class with the most box tops will win a pizza party! Looking forward… March is Reading Month is right around the corner! We have some fantastic events planned to celebrate Reading! Reading Spirit Week will be March 6th -10th There will be a fun Reading Assembly on Tuesday, March 7th during the day. Family Reading Night will be Tuesday, March 7th from 5:30 – 7:00pm. During the Reading Night, we will also be hosting a Parent School Improvement Meeting, where we will spend a short time going through our school improvement goals. Students will have Reading Challenges including Totally Ten and Reading Minute Challenge, where they will be eligible to win some pretty fun rewards. More about March is Reading Month will be coming home in your students’ weekly folders. All 8th grade girls, mark your calendars for Thursday, March 16th. We will be offering a FREE women’s self-defense class after school at 3:30pm. Having 3 daughters of my own, I understand the need to teach our young ladies how to look for, prevent, and defend against potential threats. We have partnered with PKSA of Monroe to put on this important training. Look for a flier and sign-up sheet coming home in the next few weeks. We will also open up this opportunity to any moms of our 8th grade students who would like to attend. Last but not least, attached to my weekly email you will find a letter concerning student internet safety. It is so important for parents to know the threats that exist in our virtual world today. Along with this information, we are currently working with law enforcement officials to hold a parent internet safety training. If you have any questions, you can contact me or Mrs. Waldron. That is it for this week! I hope you enjoy the long weekend and I will see you on Tuesday!
