Timberland Learns from MSU Football Player

Students at Timberland Charter Academy were introduced to 13 different careers throughout the day Oct. 31, including former Michigan State University football player Damon Knox.

“It was truly a day that ‘filled my bucket’ as I saw our students so intrigued and engaged,” said Angelia Coleman, Timberland principal. “One teacher plans to extend this into a writing opportunity.”

Students were able to not only hear about different careers, but ask questions about them.

Knox, a defensive tackle that played for MSU until 2015, pursued a career in law enforcement after leaving the Spartans. He currently works for the Intermediate School District in his hometown of Muskegon.
Students enjoyed looking at his MSU jersey and hearing about his new career after earning his degree.
