PRESS RELEASE South Pointe Scholars Wins Two Eagle Awards

Press Release

GRAND RAPIDS, Mich., Nov. 25, 2013 — National Heritage Academies (NHA), one of the nation’s largest charter school management companies, awarded South Pointe Scholars Charter Academy with two Eagle Awards at its annual ceremony.
South Pointe Scholars, located in Ypsilanti, Mich., earned an Eagle Award for Parent Satisfaction which means the school earned a net promoter score of 75 percent or higher on the spring parent survey. Ninety-seven percent of parents polled said they would recommend South Pointe to other parents.  Along with Parent Satisfaction, South Pointe also earned an Eagle Award for Employee Engagement.
“Parents play a major role in a child’s academic success, so we work very hard to stay connected to them through consistent communication,” said Principal Nancy Kouba. “We survey our parents and take the feedback very seriously; we want to make sure we exceed their expectations for their child.  Also, having teachers who are passionate about what they do is so important to our students’ success.  Our staff is highly satisfied; this reflects their dedication to South Pointe and a willingness to do whatever it takes for their students to succeed.”
This is the 13th year NHA honored its top performing schools with Eagle Awards. NHA rewards schools in eight areas including: Employee Engagement, Parent Satisfaction, Academic Growth, Enrollment and Attrition, State Accountability, Taking Flight, Soaring to New Heights, and School of the Year.
NHA’s system of schools is designed to eliminate achievement gaps and provide school choice to families, with the clear objective of preparing children for success in high school, college, and beyond.
For the 2013-2014 school year, NHA is serving more than 50,000 students in 76 schools in nine states.
