Rolesville Charter Academy Names First Principal

Shelby Gorski has been named founding principal of Rolesville Charter Academy. In partnership with a local Board of directors, the school is managed by National Heritage Academies (NHA), which currently operates 11 public charter schools in North Carolina.

“Rolesville Charter Academy will be a place where every child and family that walks through our doors knows that they are special,” said Gorski, who previously served as an upper elementary dean at Wake Forest Charter Academy. “We have a huge responsibility to live up to the trust that families put in sending their children to us. Our staff will communicate care and innovation, and RCA will be a place where that’s the norm, not the exception.”

Prior to her time at Wake Forest, Gorski was an instructional coach, language arts department head, and classroom teacher. Ms. Gorski is also a recipient of the North Carolina Principal Fellows Award.  She holds bachelor’s degrees in English and elementary education, a master’s degree in school administration from the University of North Carolina at Wilmington and a master’s degree in literacy from Columbia University Teachers College.
