This summer, middle school students at Greensboro Academy, are putting their moral focus curriculum into action by passing out 260 “We Care” packages to homeless in the community.
“This is the first year we have done this as we have seen a growing number of homeless people in our community,” said Bonnie Trahan, a para at Greensboro who helped organize the event. “I was really proud of our Patriots.”
During the last month of school, each student helped fill the “We Care” packages that included bottles of water, adult socks, band aids, and other toiletries. The families of the students and the boosters collected a variety of items to put into the “We Care” packages. High Point Pediatric Dentistry provided free toothbrushes and toothpaste.
Families of the students and the school booster club collected the items to put into the “We Care” packages. High Point Pediatric Dentistry provided free toothbrushes and toothpaste that were included in each bag.
Each student included a hand-written note to the recipient of their package. Students were encouraged to keep the bags in their cars until they came across someone in the community who needed it.
Great job, Greensboro!
