Kay Collins Named Principal of Foundations Academy

Foundations Academy is excited to announce Kay Collins as principal for the 2018-19 school year.
 
“I am honored to serve as principal for Foundations Academy,” said Collins. “As a principal I am motivated by knowing I am making a difference in the lives of students. I love spending my days with students and helping them to reach their goals.”
 
Collins comes to Foundations from our neighbor, Brighton School District 27J, where for the past 18 years she has served as principal of South Elementary School. Prior to her time at 27J, Ms. Collins served as a classroom teacher, federal grant director, and substitute teacher in Fort Lupton, Colorado.
 
She is passionate about cultivating strong student achievement, high-quality teachers, and a safe school environment. Ms. Collins has won numerous awards during her tenure, including the 2009 Colorado Nationally Distinguished Elementary Principal of the Year.
 
Ms. Collins holds a bachelor’s degree in elementary education and master’s degree in educational leadership from the University of Northern Colorado. She also holds an administrative licensure and certificate of administrative excellence from the University of Colorado at Boulder.
 
Foundations Academy will begin the school year on Wednesday, Aug. 15.
