Canton Charter Academy Wins Five Eagle Awards

Press Release

CANTON, Mich., July 29, 2014—National Heritage Academies (NHA), one of the nation’s largest charter school management companies, awarded Canton Charter Academy with five Eagle Awards. This is the 14th year NHA honored its top performing schools with Eagle Awards.
Canton Charter Academy earned an Eagle Award for Academic Growth which means the school is at or above the 90th percentile for blended fall-to-spring and spring-to-spring growth on the Northwest Evaluation Association assessment in grades kindergarten through eighth.
"We are so proud to receive this award recognizing the hard work and dedication of our students and teachers,” said Principal Janelle Magyar. “Our goal is for every one of our students to be on the college bound path when they enter high school.”
Canton also took home a new award this year in the category Schools of Excellence.  The award goes to schools with superior performance in academic achievement and full enrollment for the 2012-2013 school year.
The school also earned an Eagle Award for Employee Engagement, Parent Satisfaction, and Student Attendance.
Canton Charter Academy is a free public charter school serving students in kindergarten through eighth grade.
NHA’s system of schools is designed to eliminate achievement gaps and provide school choice to families, with the clear objective of preparing children for success in high school, college, and beyond.
National Heritage Academies is a charter school management company operating 76 schools in nine states for the 2013-2014 school year. It is currently serving more than 50,000 students in grades kindergarten through eighth.
