The Beau Mann Center For Excellence Alumni Scholarship

Beau Mann was a beacon of hope and resilience. From personal struggles with addiction in his early years, Beau emerged with a fervent passion to aid others on their recovery journey. In 2015, he pioneered Sober Grid, the world's first digital platform offering a 24/7 global community for those in recovery. This groundbreaking app, which was the largest social mobile network for individuals battling substance abuse, has touched lives in over 170 countries. Beau's vision for Sober Grid was born from a moment of inspiration at the Sundance Film Festival, and he dedicatedly served as its president and CEO.

Recognizing the global challenge of addiction, Beau and his team sought to foster a supportive community, making peer assistance accessible with a simple click. Under his leadership, Sober Grid expanded its reach by acquiring Ascent, a peer recovery coaching service, ensuring round-the-clock, HIPAA-compliant support for its users. With backing from esteemed institutions like the National Science Foundation and collaborations with the University of Pennsylvania Perelman School of Medicine and Harvard Medical School, Sober Grid continually innovated, harnessing Artificial Intelligence to predict and intervene in potential relapses.

Beau's journey was not without its trials. As a young individual, he grappled with the challenges of his identity and life's adversities. Yet, he transformed his experiences into a force for good, creating a global platform that has since been a lifeline for many. Tragically, Beau's life was cut short, but his legacy endures. His commitment to service, mentorship, and uplifting others resonates deeply with Canton Charter Academy's Moral Focus.

In honor of Beau's indomitable spirit and dedication to bettering lives, Canton Charter Academy proudly introduces the Beau Mann Center for Excellence Scholarship.
