Friendship Bench Helps Students Thrive

Canton Charter Academy students and staff will focus on several moral focus virtues this year through the promotion of the Cougar Friendship Benches on the school playground.

The red benches are to be used by students who feel lonely or have no one to play with. When other students see them sitting on the bench, they will know to go sit with them and invite them to play together.

"We are leveraging our moral focus virtues to create a positive culture and strong relationships between students," said Kellie Fuller, principal of Canton.

Fuller plans to remind students to use the benches as a way to build relationships with other students and be a friend during the school year.
