Three Local Charter Schools Offer Free Parent App

Tara Moreno, Burton View

BURTON — A local school is getting some technological advancement for parents this month. A new smartphone app from National Heritage Academies (NHA) is connecting the parents of 50,000 students to their school work. NHA manages three schools throughout Saginaw and Genesee Counties including Burton Glen.

According to a press release, the app provides instant access to student grades, school news, and meal balance accounts. Parents can also email their child’s teacher or search the school’s online carpooling database.

“We never want our parents to be surprised by their child’s academic progress so we focus on open communication, said Principal Denesha Rawls-Smith, in a press release. “This app allows parents to check their child’s grades whenever it is convenient for them at the touch of their phone.”

Parents can download the National Heritage Academies (NHA) app for free and use their normal log in information to be connected to their child’s school.
