Andrew J. Brown Academy (AJB) has been going pink for four years now in support of the Indiana Women in Need (I.W.I.N.) Foundation, which supports individuals statewide currently receiving treatment for breast cancer by securing and paying for individual services that relieve emotional, physical, and financial burdens.
Every year, I.W.I.N. visits AJB to speak about breast cancer, and for the last two years, they have spoken to the entire school during their Moral Focus assembly.
$365 was raised this year, making a total of $1,800 raised over the last four years.
“It is so important to give back as a school because we are the foundation of our community and the education of this generation is vital,” said Elysha Jackson, fifth-grade teacher at AJB. “Giving back ensures that our students become a positive factor in that foundation. We must become the changing agent in our community.”
