Why did you choose education as a profession?
Education became extremely interesting to me during my high school years as I explored different vocations. I graduated high school as a licensed cosmetologist and then continued my education earning a degree in radio and television broadcasting, before ending up in education.What is your favorite part of serving as a principal?
Creating and fostering an environment of teaching and learning. Additionally, supporting the staff in the heavy lifting of the needs of our students, as I stand shoulder to shoulder in the work.What is the one thing you wish for every child?
Equitable education.What motivates you every day?
My family and the smiles and growth of people around me.How important is parental involvement in a student’s success?
I’ve learned through the years in education it is imperative that parents are well informed and educated about their child’s learning. A parent should be informed in regard to their child’s learning socially, emotionally, and academically to ensure success as a lifelong learner.Check out a school near you!
