This summer I transferred to South Canton Scholars as the principal.  This will be my first year at SCS.

What do you like most about working here?

I enjoy the collaboration and teamwork among staff, parents and students. We all have the same goal, to increase student achievement.

Personal

I have been married to my husband, Danny for thirteen years.  We have six year old boy/girl twins-Dominic and Eliana.  Spending time with my family is my favorite activity.  I also love to read and go to the beach.

  • Madonna University: Master of Arts in Literacy Education with a Reading Specialist endorsement
  • Grand Valley State University: Administrator’s Certificate

Previous education experience and number of years in the field:

My career in education began as an English Language Learner (ELL) interventionist servicing students in grades K-5. In 2007, I joined NHA as a first grade teacher at Canton Charter Academy and grew to become their K-2 Dean and eventually the Principal. My passion for coaching and early literacy education, lead me back to the Dean position where I am grateful to have the opportunity to impact students’ lives in a meaningful way.

What do you like most about working here?

The thing I like most about working for South Canton Scholars is their commitment to challenging students and staff to set and pursue goals. I feel fortunate to work in a supportive environment where success is nurtured, best practices are shared, and student achievement is the primary goal.

Personal

I am married with two children. In my spare time I enjoy traveling, reading, Lion’s football, and long walks with my dog, Toby-Wan Kenobi.
