Last year Linden Charter Academy staff formed a team to walk in the annual breast cancer awareness walk.
This year they gathered more support.
“Not only did we walk, but our sister school Burton Glen joined us,” said Deonna Washington, principal of Linden Charter Academy. “We had a fantastic time.”
After Washington’s aunt passed away last year from breast cancer, she formed a team at Linden to participate in the annual walk.
“Both my Linden and Burton Glen family came out to support me,” said Washington. “I am very thankful for the love and support. Along the way, we saw parents, students, and our beloved bus drivers. What an amazing way to show support in our community!”
Together the two schools raised nearly $1,000 for the American Cancer Society.
Each school plans to make the walk an annual event.
