Red Wings Assembly Team Visits East Arbor

Members of the Detroit Red Wings Foundation visited students at East Arbor Charter Academy last month to take on topics even bigger than the elusive Stanley Cup.

The Red Wings’ assembly team, which represents the Detroit NHL team, faced off with East Arbor students in kindergarten through fifth grade to talk about important life skills. It’s important to focus in school and develop good eating habits, the Red Wings told their East Arbor teammates.

“The energetic staff led an assembly that was all about teamwork, healthy eating, and staying dedicated to your education,” said Tanesha Newby, principal of East Arbor.

The assembly ended with a shootout, as students took on East Arbor staff members.
“It was awesome and the kids loved it,” said Newby.
