This privacy statement explains the procedures followed by National Heritage Academies (“NHA”) in collecting and using information regarding visitors to this and other NHA websites and advises you of what information might be shared with third parties. It also describes and details other means of communication utilized by NHA, including, but not limited to, email and short message service (text message). The type of information collected will vary depending upon the portions of the site or sites you visit and, in certain circumstances, which you disclose voluntarily. Personally identifiable information is any information that can be used to identify you, such as your name, address, email address, or phone number. For visitors who only read or download pages from NHA sites, no individual identifying data is shared outside of NHA or its providers.
NHA is committed to ensuring that your information is secure during your Internet or other electronic communications with us and has taken steps to make all information received from our electronic visitors as secure as possible against unauthorized access and use. To prevent unauthorized access or disclosure, we employ extensive suitable physical, electronic, and procedural safeguards to maintain the security of your information. NHA also conducts periodic reviews of its web security to ensure that our electronic security safeguards remain up-to-date and effective. However, we urge you to take every precaution to protect your personal data when you are on the Internet or using any other electronic means of communication.
Collection of Information
When you send information to us using email, text message, or through one of our Internet Services requiring an ID and password, the information may be shared with our employees and contractors or third party service providers who need to know the information to respond to your request, and as permitted and/or required by law. We may keep some of this information for a period of time as determined necessary by us. We will not sell or distribute your personal information to third parties unless we have your permission or are required to do so by law.
Visitors who register may be included in one or more NHA email or text message distributions or other customer databases used to communicate or contact you, unless you request that we do not do so (see the Choice/Opt-Out section below).
If you send us an email or respond to the Contact Us section, in addition to the general visitor information, we also may record your email address and any other personal information included with your message. We may use this information to process your request for information, respond to your questions, or deliver a service and/or add your address to an email or text message distribution or customer database used to communicate or contact you, unless you request that we do not do so (see the Choice/Opt-Out section below).
Short Message Service (“SMS”) “Text Message”
If you subscribe to our SMS services, you agree to receive SMS service messages from NHA at the address and/or mobile number you provide for such services. You understand that this does not constitute you approving any sale between you and NHA, and that there is no purchase necessary to receive the SMS service message(s). By subscribing and providing your information, you fully understand and unambiguously consent to opt-in to NHA SMS services and authorize NHA to deliver marketing text messages to the phone number you provided. NHA will not rent, sell or otherwise distribute your phone number to any third party nor will we initiate a SMS message to you without your prior express consent.
You represent and attest that you are the owner or authorized user of the device you are using to sign up for the SMS service and that you are authorized to approve all applicable charges, if any. Participation in our SMS service is free of charge, but standard carrier text messaging charges may apply. [Comment] You may opt-out of our SMS services at any time by replying “STOP” to any message you receive (see the Choice/Opt-Out section below).
You acknowledge and agree that the SMS service is provided via wireless systems which use radios (and other means) to transmit communications over complex networks. NHA does not guarantee that your use of the SMS service will be private or secure, and we are not liable to you for any lack of privacy or security you may experience. You understand that you are fully responsible for taking precautions and providing security measures best suited for your situation and intended use of the SMS service. Further, you acknowledge and agree that your wireless carrier and other service providers may also collect data about your SMS usage and their practices are governed by their own privacy policies.
Visitors or users who wish NHA not to use or share customer data information may request that their name be deleted by indicating such when registering at this site, submitting an on-line or email inquiry, replying “stop” to any text message, or by contacting us directly to request removal from any such shared list (see the Change/Corrections section below). Also, NHA customers who do not wish to receive future communications or services may contact us by those same means. Such changes normally take effect within ten (10) business days after we receive your request, although in some cases it may take longer. If you decide you want to remove this restriction after opting out, please notify us.
Any information, other than personal information, you transmit to NHA via this website or by any other means, including data, questions, comments, or suggestions may be treated as non-confidential and nonproprietary and will become the property of NHA. Information, other than personal data or information may be used for any purpose, including, but not limited to, reproduction, solicitation, disclosure, transmission, publication, broadcast, and posting. NHA is free to use any ideas, concepts, know-how, or techniques contained in any communication you send to us via this website or by any other means for any purpose, including, but not limited to, developing and marketing products using such information.
If you prefer not to receive cookies from NHA sites, you should set your browser to alert you before accepting cookies or to otherwise block cookies. You do not have to have cookies turned on to use most areas of a NHA site. However, by not accepting cookies, some pages may not fully function and you may not be able to access certain information or features.
Protecting the Privacy of Children
Children under 13 years old are not the target audience of this website or other marketing communications. To protect their privacy, NHA prohibits the solicitation of personal information from these children in compliance with the Children’s Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA).

All updates and changes automatically apply to all visitors and users of this website and other means of communication. Even though you may have visited this site previously, any access is subject to the then current terms and you are responsible for checking for any updates.
