To reward students for their hard work and dedication to their studies in mathematics, Walton Charter Academy is hosting a ‘Math Blast’ carnival, reminiscent of a 1930s Water for Elephants style traveling fair. Students have ‘divided’ and conquered their goals set at the beginning of the year, which include grade-appropriate vocabulary, mathematical skills such as addition, subtraction, multiplication and division facts, and general knowledge of measurements, abbreviations and formulas. Over 700 Walton students will take a break from carrying and crossing out to enjoy a variety of bounce houses, obstacle courses, laser tag games, face painting, and even a chance to dunk their favorite teacher in the dunk tank.
