Dress Code

To enable students to reach high academic standards, we've put in place a dress code designed to reduce distractions and competitions. Implementing a simple, flexible, cost-effective dress code promotes student learning and increased academic instruction time.

 

All students:

 

Shirts/blouses:

Button down with at least two buttons and a collar, long or short sleeve, and a solid color with no writing or printing. All shirts must be tucked in.
 

Allowable colors for the shirt/blouse are:

  • Kindergarten Young 5 - 5th grade - Blue or white

  • Middle school (6th grade - 8th grade) - Blue, white, red, or green

Pants/skirts:

Blue jeans/blue pants, blue jeans knee length shorts, blue jeans knee length skirt with no writing or holes.

 

Shoes: 

Tennis shoes or other shoes with a full closed toe and heel.
 
Allowance will be made for clothing provided by or purchased from Vanderbilt for School Spirit such as: Kindergarten tee shirts (given to Kindergarten students), Middle school tee shirts (house team tee shirts), athletic tops on game days (school sports), Vanderbilt clothing purchased via the PSA (PSA has a vendor which provides tee shirts and sweatshirts).
