To enable students to reach high academic standards, we've put in place a dress code designed to reduce distractions and competitions. Implementing a simple, flexible, cost-effective dress code promotes student learning and increased academic instruction time.
Personal Hygiene
The personal grooming of students should be in accord with the standards set by the uniform dress code. Students should be clean and neat when at school.
All Students
Students must wear white, navy or light blue shirts with collars (includes mock turtleneck, long- or short-sleeved, cotton or knit).
Students must wear khaki, black or navy pants. Students may wear khaki, black or navy shorts or capris, weather permitting, until October 15 and after April 30. Shorts must be no shorter than the knees.
Cold weather attire may include solid-colored sweaters or vests that are navy, black, white, or light blue which may be worn in the building. Hood clothing is not permitted in the building.
Students must wear solid brown, black, white, or navy shoes (loafers, casual dress, or plain tennis shoes that do not have more than one additional color). Boots are permitted only as outerwear.
Students must wear white, black or navy socks (or tights for girls).
Hats of any kind may not be work inside the building.
Jeans are not permitted unless pre-approved exceptions are made for school or grade-level activities.
Extreme hairstyles are not permitted. Hair color or streaked styles must be of natural tones.
Hoops and earrings are not permitted.
Tattoos must be covered.
Wearing, carrying, and displaying gang paraphernalia, names, signs, or symbols of gang membership are prohibited.
Boys
Girls
Girls may wear khaki, navy, or black pants, shorts, skirts or jumpers.
All bottoms must be either longer than the student’s fingertips when her arms hang at her sides or no more than three inches above the knees.
A reasonable number of earrings are permitted. Large hoop or dangling earrings are not permitted. Only ears may be pierced.
Makeup is not permitted.
