Alan Harper, Principal

Education:

·         Minnesota State University Moorhead – Bachelor of Science, Elementary Education

·         Minnesota State University Moorhead – Master's of Science, Educational Administration

·         University of Phoenix -- Master's of Arts, Curriculum and Instruction

Previous Education Experience and Number of Years in the Field:

I taught students in grades K-8 for 19 years while living in Minnesota.  I served six years as an elementary principal and middle school principal in western Arizona.  My spouse and I then moved to Phoenix where I was a middle school principal for five years.  Since June 2009, I have served the students, families and staff at Stambaugh.

What do you like most about working here?

I enjoy seeing the children challenging themselves on a daily basis while preparing for their future.

Personal:

I am a retired veteran of the armed services, having served in The United States Army, Army National Guard, and Army Reserve.   I am active in the Youngstown Kiwanis Club.  My hobbies include running and jogging in Mill Creek Park, riding my motorcycle, and spending as much time a possible with my grandchildren.
