Mr. Delvin Vick, Principal
Education:
BS in Elementary Education from East Carolina University
Masters in School Administration from North Carolina Central University
Previous education experience and number of years in the field:
Prior to joining NHA, I was a public school principal, assistant principal, and teacher in North Carolina. I have over 12 years of experience in education, including two years teaching English in Shijonawate City in Japan. I am a lifelong learner, who loves great teaching and learning.
What do you like most about working here?
I truly appreciate NHA’s focus on student achievement. I enjoy going to work on a daily basis. I get the opportunity to interact with great students, families, and educators.
Personal Information:
I am a married father of two children. I enjoy experiencing new things, soulful music, and collecting rare sports cards and memorabilia.

What do you like most about working here?
I love working with children and watching them learn and grow. Each day presents new challenges and learning experiences. Being able to help turn those challenges into successes is the reason I love working in education and being a member of the Southside Academy community.

I am currently working on a campaign to help promote literacy in the community along with other staff members here at Southside Academy.
Personal Information:
My family is my foundation. We are very close and they are very important to me. I am a singer/song writer. I also make and sell jewelry.
