South Arbor Students Partnering with Two Men and a Truck for Food Collection

This fall, as part of the Michigan Harvest Gathering, South Arbor Charter Academy and Two Men and a Truck are teaming up to collect food for Food Gatherers, according to a news release.
The groups want to make sure local residents have food on their table this holiday season and beyond, the release said.
On Monday, the students and the moving company will be gearing up for the food drive with a school-wide kickoff celebration from 8-8:30 a.m.
Two Men and a Truck will be setting up a bunch of moving boxes for the kids to fill with nonperishable items. The Michigan Harvest Gathering will take place through Nov. 18.
East Arbor Charter Academy and Fortis Academy also will hold student food collections. Upon completion, the movers will drop off the food collected by the local schools at Food Gatherers just in time for Thanksgiving.
Those interested in donating can drop off nonperishable food to participating Two Men and Truck locations. The company has said it will make trucks and manpower available to food manufacturers or anyone wishing to donate a large amount of food at once, the release said.
