National Heritage Academies, a leading national charter school operator, recently honored Fortis Academy and South Arbor Charter Academy in Ypsilanti with 2010-2011 Eagle Awards. Fortis received the Employee Engagement Award, while South Arbor was honored with the Parent Loyalty Award.

To be selected for the Parent Loyalty Award, NHA requires 60 percent or more of a school’s parents be very satisfied with their child’s school—a statistic measured by an internally-generated parent survey. NHA understands that parental support is critical to a child’s success in school, so the company honors those schools that demonstrate the highest levels of parental satisfaction and loyalty.

A qualified staff that is dedicated to its school community and committed to the children it serves is crucial for student achievement. As such, NHA rewards schools with high employee satisfaction with the Employee Engagement Award.

For the past 11 years, Eagle Awards have been awarded by NHA to the top performing schools meeting high standards. For more information about Fortis Academy and South Arbor Charter Academy, please visit www.fortisacademy.org and www.southarborcharteracademy.org.
