To enable students to reach high academic standards, the school has put in place a dress code designed to reduce distractions and competitions. Implementing a simple, flexible, cost effective dress code promotes student learning and increased academic instruction time.
Interpretation of the Dress Code is at the principal and staff’s discretion and their decision is final.
Personal Hygiene
The personal grooming of students should be in accord with the standards set by the uniform dress code. Students should be clean and neat when at school.
All Students (K-5)
All students must wear white shirts with collars (mock turtleneck, long- or short-sleeved, cotton or knit).
All students must wear brown, black, or navy shoes (loafer type or casual dress). Athletic shoes should be brought to school for use in P.E. Boots are permitted only as outerwear.
Cold weather attire may include solid navy or white sweaters or vests.
Hats of any kind are not permitted.
Extreme hairstyles are not permitted. Hair color must be of natural tones and may not be professionally colored, dyed, or streaked.
Students are prohibited from wearing, carrying, or displaying gang paraphernalia, names, signs, or symbols.
Boys
Boys must wear navy or dark blue pants or shorts.
Belts must be worn with trousers having belt loops.
Shirts must stay tucked in pants.
Boys must wear white or navy socks.
Hairstyles must be conservative with hair being off the collar.
Earrings and other body piercing ornaments are not permitted.
Girls
Girls must wear navy or dark blue pants, skirts, skorts, or jumpers.
Skirts, skorts, and jumpers must be longer than the fingers when arms hang at the student’s
side or no more than three inches above the knees.
Girls must wear white or navy socks/tights.
A reasonable number of earrings are permitted. Only ears may be pierced.
Makeup is not permitted.
Middle School Students (Grades 6-8)
Middle school students are required to wear khaki pants and maroon shirts.
