Rande Horn, Principal

 

Education:

Western Michigan University; Masters in Educational Leadership Ferris State University; Developing Leader Certificate Albion College; Bachelors in Education

 

Previous education experience and number of years in the field:

37th year in Education; 20 years at a Principal, 4 years as a Director Media and Technology

 

 

What do you like most about working here?

The positive atmosphere of the staff. Parents who feel welcome and volunteer in the building. A staff with high expectations that bring out the best in all students.

Personal Information:

Married, 9 children ages 9-33 1 dog Enjoy reading, walking and golf
 
 

Jennifer Lorence, K-2 Dean

 

Education:

Attended Eastern Michigan University to receive Bachelor’s Degree in teaching Elementary Education. Attended Wayne State University to receive a Master’s degree in Special Education. Currently pursuing administrator’s certificate at Eastern Michigan University.
 

Previous education experience and number of years in the field:

Taught third grade and special education for 4 years in Detroit. Taught for 2 years at a brain injury program within Children’s Hospital of Michigan.
 

What do you like most about working here?

We truly have an amazing staff here at Quest. Each person works with one another with a common goal: giving our students the best education possible.
 

Personal Information:

I am married had my first child, our son Cameron, in November of 2010. We have two dogs and are enjoying learning all there is to learn about parenthood.
 

 

Kristin Guild, 3-5 Dean

 

Education: 

I received my undergraduate degree from Lake Superior State University. I am currently writing my thesis for a Master’s Degree in Special Education at Wayne State University. I am also currently taking classes toward a Master’s Degree in Administration at Wayne State University.
 

Previous education experience and number of years in the field:

I taught for seven years at Detroit Merit Academy. I taught second, third, and fourth grades there.
 

What do you like most about working here?

I enjoy working at Quest because we have truly dedicated teachers and parents. Coming to work and seeing all of the students’ smiles make getting up easy every day. I enjoy the different people I am fortunate enough to work with.
 

Lauren Martin, 6-8 Dean

 

Education:

I attended Aquinas College in Grand Rapids, MI where I received my B.A. in Learning Disabilities and Early Childhood Education. I am currently attending Grand Valley State University and will graduate in December with a Masters in Special Education Administration.
 

Previous education experience and number of years in the field:

I taught Special Education for three years with NHA and am currently finishing my first year as a Dean.
 

What do you like most about working here?

We have a very supporting and accommodating staff which makes it exciting to come to work each day. The staff works closely with parents to ensure academic success for each student. I really enjoy working with the students and watching them excel in their academic growth.
 

Ann VanDyke, Dean

 

Education:

I graduated from Wayne State University in 2006 with a degree in Elementary Education. I am currently pursuing my masters in Educational Leadership from Eastern Michigan University.
 

Previous education experience and number of years in the field:

I began teaching as an at-risk teacher in a second grade classroom. I have also taught third and fifth grades. I have spent the past few years as an at-risk coordinator at Quest
 

What do you like most about working here?

The staff at Quest is truly united. We support each other in any way possible, and make learning enjoyable for staff and students alike.
