What do you like most about working here?

I love the feeling of community that is associated with an established school. Prevail Academy provides a unique experience from the moment you walk into the building, and it becomes apparent that people want to be here. Our diversity makes this school a rich learning environment that celebrates the academic growth of students while developing their moral character. I love Monday mornings. How many people can say that and mean it?

Other work experience we might want to mention:

I started working in schools over 20 years ago, teaching gymnastics and cheerleading with Flint Community schools after school. Shortly after, I ran an after care program and later became a supervisor for an enrichment program supporting twenty elementary schools in the summer. My business background before making my final plunge into teaching was to convince principals in high schools to contract with our family business allowing us the opportunity to work with their yearbook class. It was through this experience that I realized I was on the wrong side of this setting. I was meant to be working in a school. I decided after a few years that going back to school was the answer and I have loved every minute of it. Having the opportunity to shift gears and become an instructional leader has been something I am most proud of. I look forward to many years to come in this role and the privilege of serving this family at Prevail.

Personal:

I love to read. My true passion for reading started when I was twenty-five. It was during this time that I began to think about “the rest of my life”. I started to read everything. I read fiction, non-fiction, self-help and books with spiritual insights. This passion transformed the way I thought about the world and inspired me to seek a career with meaning.

The best things about working for NHA are: opportunity for personal/professional growth and advancement, job security and a drive for high performance, the staff, parents, and students we have the pleasure of working with.
