Kathy Watson, Principal
Johnna J. McDonnell, 3rd – 5th Grade Dean/Instructional Coach
Education:
Central Michigan University - Bachelor's of Science - Major in Science and Minor in Math
Saginaw Valley State University - 18 hour Graduate Program
Saginaw Valley State University - Master’s in Educational Leadership
Previous education experience and number of years in the field:
Next year, 2011 – 2012, I will celebrate my 25th year in education. I began my professional career in education in 1987. I served 15 years in another school system in the roles of middle school teacher and three years as a school principal. I began working for NHA in 2002. Since that time, I have served as a 6th grade teacher, mentor, lead mentor, wing leader, Math Specialist, and now am pleased to have the opportunity to work with our 3rd – 5th grade staff, students, and parents as the Dean/Instructional Coach.
What do you like most about working here?
Over the years I have spent with NHA, I have enjoyed being a part of an educational program focused on success for each child. The personalized instruction, the dedicated staff I’ve had the pleasure to work with, the behavioral and academic expectations, and most importantly knowing that our program is making a difference in the lives of our students and families all contribute to my reasons for enjoying being a member of the NHA team.
Personal Information:
I enjoy spending time with my husband, Raymond and two children, Cayne (3 years old) and Clarissa (20 months old). Sharing time with them visiting local attractions and just being at home with them is the greatest gift in my life.
Angie VanWormer, Dean
DeNesha N. Rawls-Smith, K-2 Dean/Instructional Coach
