Dress Code

To enable students to reach high academic standards, we've put in place a dress code designed to reduce distractions and competitions. Implementing a simple, flexible, cost-effective dress code promotes student learning and increased academic instruction time.

 

Personal Hygiene

The personal grooming of students should be in accord with the standards set by the uniform
dress code. Students should be clean and neat when at school.

All Students

  • Students are required to abide by the following:

  • Students must wear white or blue, collared shirts, blouses, turtlenecks, or polo shirts (includes long- and short-sleeved). Sheer material and emblems are not permitted.

  • Students must wear navy pants. Pants that are jeans, bellbottoms, cargo, zippered, sweatpants, baggy, stretch, Capri, spandex, hip-hugging, or form-fitting are not permitted.

  • Students may wear navy shorts that are mid-thigh length or longer.

  • Girls may wear navy skirts or skorts that are no shorter than two inches above the knees.

  • Girls may wear navy jumpers.

  • Boys are not permitted to wear earrings.

  • Students may wear solid-colored sweaters or vests that are navy. These items may not have emblems. Hooded sweatshirts are not permitted.

  • Students must wear plain black belts. No decorations on belts are permitted.

  • Students must wear solid black dress shoes. Black athletic shoes should be brought to school for use in P.E. class. Sandals, open-toe or open back shoes, spikes, and cleats are not permitted. Boots are permitted only as outerwear.

  • Students must wear socks (or tights for girls) that are white or navy. Students may wear navy ties.

  • Students wearing or carrying items that are not permitted may either be sent home or be disciplined by other appropriate procedures set forth by the principal.

  • Students who represent the school at an official function or public event may be required to follow specific dress requirements.
