Dress Code

To enable students to reach high academic standards, we've put in place a dress code designed to reduce distractions and competitions. Implementing a simple, flexible, cost-effective dress code promotes student learning and increased academic instruction time.

 All Students

  • White, light blue or navy blue shirts with collars which includes mock turtlenecks, long or short sleeves, cotton or knit (shirts must stay tucked in at all times)
  • All shirts worn under uniform shirts must be short-sleeved and solid white, light blue or navy in color (no print)
  • Solid black loafer type, casual dress or athletic shoes (no wheels and no colored markings or soles – shoes must be completely black).  Boots are not permitted except as outerwear
  • Sweaters, sweater vests or sweatshirts in solid navy, light blue or white would be acceptable cold weather attire (no stripes, logos, patterns or fur).  All collars must be visible underneath
  • Hats of any kind are not permitted
  • Extreme hairstyles are not permitted.  Hair color for boys and girls must be of natural tones, and may not be professionally colored, dyed or streaked
  • No neck jewelry (including key lanyards) or wrist jewelry is permitted other than a watch, Accelerated Reader jewelry or Principal’s Award dog tags
  • Belts must be solid black, brown or navy (no ornamental belt buckles)
  • No hoods on sweaters or sweatshirts (only exception – Pajama Day)
  •  

Boys

  • Navy blue uniform-style pants or shorts; belts must be worn with trousers having belt loops (no sagging pants)
  • White or navy socks
  • Hairstyles must be conservative.
  • Body piercing ornaments of any kind are not permitted, including earrings.  Any boys coming to school with a piercing will be asked to remove them immediately and band-aids will not be provided.

 

Girls

  • Navy blue uniform-style pants, capris (no ties), skirts, skorts, or jumpers; must be longer than the fingers when arms hang at the student’s side or no more than three inches above the knee
  • White or navy blue socks/tights
  • A reasonable number of earrings are permitted.  Only ears may be pierced 
  • All earrings must be no larger than one i
  • Makeup is not permitted
  • Body piercing ornaments are not permitted
  • No purses are permitted in the classrooms
  • No leggings
  • No fashion boots allowed, all uniform pants must be on outside of footwear
