A Knapp Academy Education

Knapp Academy has the goal to be the greatest K-8 school in the country.  In order to achieve this goal Knapp does a variety of service projects that really show our Moral Focus.  During the 2010-2011 school year we raised funds for Children's Food Basket, a family who lost their home to a fire, collected jeans for homeless children, and donated funds to the PORT Program at the DeVos Children's Hospital.
Knapp also has a lot of fun activities throughout the school year.  In the fall we have a Fund Racer where we raise money and run/walk around a track.  For the past three years we have been joined by members of The Biggest Loser Casts.  They have taken pictures and exercised with us; It has been a great experience.

Our middle school celebrates MOYA every October.  MOYA stands for Month of the Young Adolescent.  During this month we celebrate our middle school students with activities, special guests and speakers. This event culminates with a Shadow Day where members of the community come in to shadow one of our students for the day.

For the last four years Knapp has participated in the Watch D.O.G.S. Program.  This is a program where fathers are invited to come to Knapp for a day to volunteer.  They participate in class discussions, one-on-one and small group learning, recess and lunch duty, as well as being able to see what their student does on a daily basis.  This program kicks off with a Pizza Night in September to start the year off right.
