2nd Annual Jump Rope for Heart
Jump Rope for Heart Fundraiser
2/14/2012
Page Content
This year, Brooklyn Scholars Charter School is hosting its
Second Annual
Hoops for Heart (H4H) and Jump Rope for Heart (JRFH) Fundraisers
!
These events will take place during P.E. classes from March 5
th
-16
th
.
The purpose of these events is to keep the students active, but also to raise money and awareness for the American Heart Association.
Most of us know someone who has been affected by a heart attack, stroke or high blood pressure, now is the time to do something about it.
Last year, we raised over $3,400 as a school to help support the testing, medication and treatment of heart disease.
This year, we hope to elevate the bar even higher and raise $4,000.
In order to reach this goal, each child is being challenged to raise at least $10.
Students are being rewarded for their hard work and support with a variety of prizes depending on the amount of funds they were able to raise.
Last year, our top fund raiser raised over $780 by himself!
Although receiving prizes is fun, our main purpose of these events is to make the students aware of how serious and deadly heart disease is and to encourage them to seek out activities that will aide them in living fit and active lives.
Basketball and jumping rope are just two examples of things our students can do to be active, keep fit and keep their hearts healthy!
Thank you for your continued support!
