To enable students to reach high academic standards, the school has put in place a dress code designed to reduce distractions and competitions. Implementing a simple, flexible, cost-effective dress code promotes student learning and increased academic instruction time. Students who do not follow the dress code will be removed from class, and their parents will be called to pick them up from school. Interpretation of the Dress Code is at the principal and staff’s discretion and their decision is final.
Personal Hygiene
The personal grooming of students should be in accord with the standards set by the uniform dress code. Students should be clean and neat when at school.
All Students
- All students are required to wear white shirts with collars (includes mock turtleneck, long or short-sleeved, cotton or knit).
- Undershirts are not appropriate for outerwear.
- All students must wear brown, black, navy, or burgundy shoes (loafer type or casual dress).
- Students’ athletic shoes may be black only. No other color athletic shoe can be worn during the school day. Other color athletic shoes can be brought to school for P.E. only.
- Boots are permitted only as outerwear.
- There are no exceptions to the athletic shoe rule.
- Cold weather attire may include sweaters or vests that are solid navy, white, or red.
- Hoodies are not allowed.
- Hats of any kind may not be worn inside the building.
- Extreme hairstyles are not permitted.
- Hair color must be of natural tones and may not be professionally colored, dyed, or streaked.
Boys
- Boys are required to wear navy or dark blue pants. Belts must be worn with pants that have belt loops.
- Shirts must stay tucked into pants.
- Boys must wear white or navy socks.
- Hairstyles must be conservative.
- Earrings and other body piercing ornaments are not permitted.
Girls
- Girls are required to wear navy or dark blue pants, skirts, or jumpers.
- All bottoms must be either longer than the student’s fingers when her arms hang at her side or no more than three inches above the knees.
- Girls must wear white or navy socks or tights.
- A reasonable number of earrings are permitted. Only ears may be pierced.
