Detroit's Warrendale Charter Academy is one of more than 60 National Heritage Academies (NHA). We are located in Detroit, one mile North of Dearborn. It is an elementary and middle school that has been crafted from the ground up with the specific goal of helping children to reach their full potential.
Chartered by Grand Valley State University, Warrendale Charter Academy established a K-5 program in 2001. Since that time, we have grown to include K-8 and have skyrocketed from 400 to nearly 700 students. An experienced administration, a committed educational staff, and a supportive parent group share the helm of Warrendale.
We believe in a structured academic environment. Our program not only supports state standards, but provides a unique college-bound approach that delivers the specific knowledge and skills students are expected to master in each subject area at each grade level.
At Warrendale Charter Academy, we share in your desire to develop a child’s heart as well as his or her mind. As a result, we’ve designed a unique moral focus program that works to support our parents’ efforts to instill character in their children by reinforcing and demonstrating universal virtues such as integrity, wisdom, courage, and respect.
At Detroit's Warrendale Charter Academy, parents are an integral part of their child's education. In many ways, they are as important as the teachers themselves. Our environment encourages parents to take an active role in partnership with the school.
