Thank you for your interest in supporting the school! We value your time and energy, as you are a vital member of our school team. There are many ways to volunteer--even if you have limited time. Please see the school office or the Parent/Student Handbook for a list of opportunities in the school. Working side-by-side with other volunteers and school staff in the school is a great way to contribute to our students’ success. Here’s how you can become a school volunteer!
Potential volunteers are required to complete the appropriate level of background check before a volunteer assignment begins. Parents and guardians may complete the online Authorization and Release form on the parents’ form site by clicking here. Note: If you are not a parent of a student please contact the school to complete a paper form. Paper forms may require additional time to process.
STEP 2: Await Approval Notification
You will be contacted regarding your approval status as a volunteer. The school or its designee will make any final determinations on the approval of volunteers.
STEP 3: Provide Additional Documentation (if applicable)
You may be asked to provide additional documentation based on your volunteer assignment.
Field Trip Drivers will need to provide to the school for inspection:
Valid driver’s license
Proof of auto insurance (Amount of Liability Coverage min. $100,000/$300,000 aggregate)
Seat belts in good working order for each child
A Fingerprint Background Check will need to be submitted by Overnight Field Trip Chaperones and other unsupervised volunteers. Please see the school secretary for a fingerprint packet and allow 30-45 days for results.
NY & NC schools exception: State law does not allow for fingerprint background checks for volunteers.
STEP 4: Volunteer!
When you arrive for your volunteer assignment you will be expected to:
Sign in and out in the school office
Submit a state-issued photo id through the LobbyGuard kiosk in the school office
Wear an identification badge during the volunteer activity
Comply with the Volunteer Guidelines and Parent Handbook
